JOANN HESS
COO -CREATIVE EXECUTIVE - SCREENWRITER - PRODUCER
JoAnn Hess is a multi-award-winning screenwriter with over 20 credited film and TV scripts, known for bold storytelling and emotionally resonant characters. Her latest feature, COOKSTER: The Darkest Days, out on Skye UK. The film, earned five festival awards and international acclaim. Her work has been optioned and commissioned worldwide, with projects packaged through MAR VISTA Entertainment and Worldwide Entertainment & Media. JoAnn’s scripts have drawn interest from Netflix, Muse Entertainment, SKY, and Estuary Films. With over 60 global screenwriting awards, she’s a recognized name across major competitions including the PAGE Awards, Austin Film Festival, Final Draft’s Big Break, and the London Film Awards, having earned praise for her raw, emotionally charged storytelling and bold, character-driven scripts.
As the Creative Executive or London Angel Film, JoAnn works closely with the production team to read, provide coverage and rewrite scripts to prepare them for production. JoAnn holds a Master Certification in Screenwriting, an MBA in Finance, a BA in Economics and a 2nd Degree blackbelt in Taekwondo.
CHRIS WHEELDON
DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR - PRODUCER
A production executive, producer and location manager since 1986. In Chris’s first 10 years, he worked on 16 feature films, 69 commercials, and 7 television series, including Blockbusters like Golden Eye, The Little Vampire, Around the World in 80 Days and Garfield 2. A production manager in London for the BAFTA-winning The Wings of a Dove in 1999. From 2002 to 2005, Chris was a partner at Planet Films Ghana Ltd, a location service company that worked on Mission Impossible 3, Cargo, and Holby City. Chris produced the Australian thriller Black Water 2008, followed by the feature theatrical documentary The Honourable Rebel 2015. Executive producer on The Last Reel earned the Spirit of Asia Award at the Tokyo Film Festival 2013, and A Walk on the Wild Side, he received the ‘Coup de Coeur’ Award at the Montreal Film Festival 2016. A line producer for The Infernal Machine in Portugal 2021, Produced the TV series, At First Glance in Portugal 2022. Executive Producer of Suspense Thriller, Hostage 2023. Chris is currently producing the Indie Afghan War Thriller, Recoil in Australia, together with Producing ROH and Grandfella for London Angel Film.
